Oppose the Vet Services Tax

If a proposed state tax of 8.25% on vet care passes, no kill dogs shelters would not be able to afford vet visits and this would greatly affect how many lives they can save annually. In addition, pet owners facing economic hardship will no longer be able to afford proper pet care and more animals will likely be surrendered to shelters. If we can’t save a dog, then animal control is forced to house and eventually euthanize them. And guess who pays for that? You, the taxpayer!
You can help.
Please call the Governor’s office automated answering service and follow these easy steps. It will only take a few seconds!
1. Dial (916) 445-2841
2. Press 1, 5, 1, 2 (It’s an automated system so you can press the numbers one right after the other)
Here’s what those numbers mean:
1 = English
5 = Veterinary tax proposal
1 = Respond to veterinary tax proposal
2 = Oppose the taxÂ

Faith the two legged dog
This dog was born with a deformity and it’s momma was going to eat him up. Until he was rescued by a loving family. They taught her how to hop around on her hind legs. And now, Faith the biped dog, has her very own website. I’m a sucker for these kind of stories.
And while we’re on the topic of dogs. There are two sites that I visit often when I get the urge to get another dog. I talk myself out of it since I don’t have much space and my neighbors seem to have supersonic hearing since they complain about my dog Banjo barking. Hopefully one day I can adopt a little friend for Banjo. He’s a dog’s dog. I visited http://cuddlycanines.com and there are some dogs that are in need of foster homes..ohhh, i’m so tempted to contact them. The other website i visit is http://beaglesandbuddies.com this is where i adopted Banjo. This website has alot of other educational links as well. Both of these shelter are in Southern California. Ok back to work….

Dog Separation Anxiety
I was dreading the day when my neighbor would knock on my door and tell me my dog is disturbing everybody. My neighbor informed me that my dog was barking, howling and pounding on the bathroom door for 8 hours. I was pretty much in denial to the fact that my dog flips out when my husband and i leave our place. I thought it might have been a 10 minute fit or perhaps that he will out grow it. So now i need to figure out how to solve this. I found a website that has pretty solid training info. I hope it works!

Dog Diarrhea: Did you know?
Â
 |
My dog Banjo had the nastiest, explosive, jelly like diarreah. He had to go out often. It was a disturbance in the small intestine. I learned this from Dr. Pitcairn’s Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats. This is an excellent book to have if you are a pet owner. I’ve purchased several books, and this one has been the most effective.The Purpose of Diarrhea. Diarrhea is a way for the intestines to fight against irritation such as worms, bacteria, viruses, spoiled or toxic foods, allergic foods, indigestable things such as hair, cloth, bone or plastic. The intestines are trying to move along the irritant quickly by contracting. Embrace the Diarrhea(i just wanted to write that), don’t make your dog hold it, make sure your pup drinks plenty of water in the meantime. Here’s a Home Remedy: Liquid Fast
Luckily Banjo was sick on the weekend. And now for a DISCLAIMER! This is to treat a mild condition. If it’s a bloody stool or if the symptoms get worse, u gotta go to the vet. |
