waking up during surgery
Woah! i spoke to my sis this morning and i’ve never heard her so incoherent. She’s gone through many surgeries but this is a major one. Anyway, she said that she thinks she woke up in the middle of the surgery and she thought she was going to die. I’m not sure if that could possibly be the morphine talking?? Unlike me, my sister is not one to fabricate stories or exaggerate. She’s actually really good at keeping up a sunny disposition even if she’s in pain. When she had her mastectomy she was out on the town pretty much the next day, drainage tubes and all (I’m not exaggerating this time). Well, i hope i can talk to her more about it later. She seems to be pretty traumatized or maybe she’s just reallly groggy. I’ve read a couple or articles and i’m a bit concerned. But then again the internet can make me paranoid.http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2003-10-12-surgery-usat_x.htm dailyfreepress.com cnn.com post traumatic stress disorder

go sister!!! The cutest cancer survivor.
My sister Ani was diagnosed with breast cancer last spring. For the past year she’s gone through chemotherapy, lost her hair, mastectomy, radiation and weekly shots of herceptim. And now for the home stretch she’s going to have breast reconstruction surgery tomorrow so please say a prayer for sis since it’s 14 hour surgery. She’s my hero! Here’s a photo taken today at my neice’s 2nd bday party.
